Caida: the Spanish word for fall, referring to the "rounds" of a wrestling match. A caida in lucha libre can be won either by pinning an opponent (to a count of three), through an opponent's disqualification (i.e. he/she using an illegal move such as a faul, or by making an opponent submit through a castigo. In Mexico, lucha libre matches are most commonly fought "a dos de tres caidas" (two out of three falls), as opposed to the common one fall match type used in North America.

References to caida or the terms dos de tres, are very popular in lucha libre mediums. "Dos de Tres" is a lucha libre magazine put out by the empresa AAA, while "Tercera Caida" (third fall) is a television show on the Mexican channel TVC Deportes.
