Salvador Lutteroth opens la Arena Coliseo as the EMLL's main arena, replacing la Arena Nacional.

On February 23, Gory Guerrero beats Tarzan Lopez in Mexico City to win the NWA World middleweight title. Later that year, El Santo would be Pete Pancof for the NWA World welterweight championship.

Mexican superstar Blue Demon makes his debut on March 31, 1948 in Laredo, Texas.
